Privacy notice

We collect the minimum information needed to confirm that you are eligible for the scheme and to run the platform. We never sell your data and we do not share it with suppliers.

Who is responsible for your data

Jewish Leadership Council and London School of Jewish Studies are the joint data controllers for the Teacher Benefits Platform. Data protection queries can be sent to dataprotection@example.org.

What we collect and why

• Your name and work email address — to confirm you work at a participating school and to sign you in.
• Your school and job title — to administer eligibility and to report anonymised take-up by school.
• Saved offers and redemption requests — to provide the service you asked for.
• Basic usage statistics — page views, offer views and searches, so we can report on engagement to funders and partners.

We do not collect special category data, we do not ask for home addresses or payment details, and we do not sell or share your personal data with suppliers.

Lawful basis

We process your data on the basis of legitimate interests — running a communal benefits scheme for eligible educators — and on the basis of your consent where you have opted in to occasional emails about new offers. You can withdraw consent at any time from your account page.

Analytics and cookies

We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party advertising tracker. Usage statistics are collected by the platform itself and stored in our own database. Visitors are counted using a salted hash that changes every day and cannot be traced back to a person. The only cookies we set are those needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms from cross-site request forgery. See our cookie notice.

How long we keep it

• Account records: while your account is active, and for up to 12 months after it is closed.
• Records of offer requests made before self-service redemption replaced them: 24 months.
• Usage statistics: 400 days, after which rows are deleted automatically.
• Administrator activity logs: 24 months, for security and accountability.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or ask for your data in a portable format. You can do most of this yourself:

• download everything we hold about you from your account page;
• delete your account and personal details from the same page;
• update your details or opt out of emails at any time.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

The platform is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, sign-in links are single use and short lived, administrator access is restricted and logged, and the database is backed up regularly.
